Abstract:In order to improve the production efficiency and reduce production costs of refiner filling for pulping in enterprises, this study proposed a stacked casting process based on the single casting process. The forming and solidification processes of single casting and stacked casting refiner fillings were simulated using Solidworks modeling software and Anycasting simulation software. The modern instrument analysis technologies were used to compare and optimize the casting refiner filling in both simulation and experimental aspects. The results indicated that the refiner fillings could be smoothly filled and solidified under both stacked casting and single casting process during the casting simulation process. The application of stacked casting process would reduce the cost of coated sand and molten steel, and improve production efficiency. While maintaining a uniform matrix structure, stacked refiner filling produced more sheet-like or strip-shaped M7C3 carbides and a small amount of cyclic oxide, alumina, and sulfide inclusions, which had a certain impact on the performance. As a result, the average hardness from the tip to the root of the tooth of stacked casting refiner filling was 32.8 HRC, while the average hardness of the single casting refiner filling was 45.0 HRC.
