| Abstract:To solve the technical problems of easy volatilization and short fragrance retention period of flavor during cigarette flavoring, and to improve the sensory quality and stability of cigarettes, this study used tobacco essence (TE) as the core material, gelatin (GE) and tobacco nanocellulose (JCNF) as the wall materials, and prepared GE/JCNF@TE microcapsules by the complex coacervation method. The optimal preparation conditions were determined by investigating the effects of wall material concentration, wall material ratio, and core-to-wall ratio on the particle size and encapsulation efficiency of the microcapsules through single-factor experiments: wall material concentration of 2.0% (w/v), wall material ratio of 6∶1, and core-to-wall ratio of 1∶1. The microcapsules prepared under the optimal conditions exhibited the highest encapsulation efficiency (63%), with a Zeta potential of -23.12 mV and an average particle size of (1.23±0.05) μm, as well as excellent thermal stability. In addition, the GE/JCNF@TE microcapsules showed good pH stability and sustained-release performance. During the 28-day release test, the release rate was 55%, demonstrating a steady and prolonged release behavior, with the tobacco essence retention rate being significantly higher than that of single-wall microcapsules. |
